Schedule:

• Initial confirmed shifts: July 16–19, 11:00–23:00
• Additional shifts in August and September to be confirmed
• Typical shift lengths: 8–12 hours
• Typical shift start times: 07:00, 11:00, or 15:00
• Patient volume: ~12–15 patients per shift plus handoffs
• Rounding required
• Required to supervise APPs

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Triage, assess, stabilize, and treat ED patients
• Rapid clinical decision-making in high-acuity settings
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs and ED staff
• Document care in Cerner

Common Case Mix:

• Trauma, myocardial infarction, stroke, infections, mental health crises, and other emergency presentations

Expected Procedures/Skills:

• Laceration repair and wound suturing
• Procedural sedation and reductions
• Cardioversion, nerve blocks, nasal packing
• Advanced airway management (intubation)
• Chest tube placement, central line placement

Support Services and Backup:

• RN staff: 7; MAs: 1; PA/NPs: 1; Office staff: 2
• Specialty backup available: Radiology, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, Physical Therapy, Mental Health, Trauma Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Infectious Disease, OB/GYN, Anesthesiology

Logistics and Coverage:

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Requirements:

• Active Michigan medical license or participation in IMLC
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• BLS certification
