Summary:

Coordinates and facilitates assessment, improvement, and surveillance activities around organizational Infection Control, Regulatory Compliance, Patient Safety and Quality initiatives. Assists in evaluating program performance and verifying standards of care are met. Participates in planning of work assignments and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. Collaborates with colleagues on education and training for associates, and participates in guidance and educational programs as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Review of patient records and unit rounding to validate compliance with isolation procedures and required charting elements for infection control surveillance and compliance.
  • Assists Infection Control Practitioner in monitoring and maintaining infection control program through State and Federal reporting.
  • Assists with education of associates, volunteers, medical staff and community on infection control and prevention issues.
  • Review of patient records and unit rounding to validate compliance with required charting elements and clinical processes for Regulatory Compliance and organizational Quality and Patient Safety initiatives.
  • Assists with education of associates, volunteers, medical staff and, as needed, community groups/members on Regulatory Compliance and organizational Quality and Patient Safety initiatives.
  • Participates in readiness activities and promotes a culture of Compliance and Patient Safety.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of licensed/certified healthcare discipline
  • Analytical and critical thinking are essential

Experience

  • Five (5) years nursing experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • Current Louisiana professional license/certificate required according to healthcare discipline
