Required credentials

• Active Physical Therapy license for the state of Alabama.
• Current CPR and BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).

Primary responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical assessments and review medical histories to identify patient needs.
• Develop and document individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation goals.
• Design and implement therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination.
• Provide manual therapy (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, manual stretching) to improve mobility and reduce pain.
• Apply physical modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) as indicated to manage pain and promote healing.
• Instruct and train patients on assistive device use (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
• Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
• Create and prescribe home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
• Monitor and document patient progress; modify treatment plans based on response and goals.
• Collaborate and communicate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, OTs, etc.) to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate, compliant patient records including assessments, interventions, progress notes, and informed consent.
• Adhere to legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards; provide culturally responsive care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
