We’re looking for a board-certified Nurse Practitioner to join a cardiology team in Tucson, AZ (85745) on a locum tenens basis from May 1, 2026 to July 30, 2026. You’ll split time between inpatient and outpatient settings, provide clinical care for cardiac patients, and collaborate closely with cardiologists while also functioning independently when appropriate.
What the role looks like
- Clinical coverage: inpatient and outpatient cardiology care, assigned patient rounding, and phone consults.
- Typical daily volume: 5–20 patients with roughly 3 admissions per day and about 15 phone consults.
- On-call responsibilities: beeper call with a 30-minute response expectation; call ratio TBD.
- You’ll work with one PA/NP support and have access to MD support for diagnostic interpretation (EKGs, telemetry).
- Documenting: maintain accurate records in Athena and Cerner EMRs.

Minimum qualifications
