Contract / Travel assignment in Columbia, MO — Start: ASAP — Rate: $2,144 / 40 hrs
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Missouri.
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS may be required by facility.
- Minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience; PACU preferred, ICU/ER/critical care acceptable.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate postoperative care for patients emerging from anesthesia.
- Continuously monitor vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, and pain; recognize and respond to post-anesthesia complications.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and ordered treatments; titrate and document as required.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record.
- Coordinate care with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team to support safe patient transitions (OR → PACU → inpatient/discharge).
- Educate patients and families on postoperative expectations and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to PACU protocols, infection control, safety procedures, and participate in emergency response when needed.
