Join a 14-week contract as a Physical Therapist in Fairmont, WV (start ASAP). Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Compensation: Travel rate $2,121/35 hrs; Local rate $2,090/35 hrs.
Requirements:
- Active, valid Physical Therapy state license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).
Core responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations, review medical history, and collaborate with the care team to identify patient needs.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans with clear rehabilitation goals.
- Design progressive exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, and function.
- Deliver hands-on interventions (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, manual stretching) and therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to manage pain and support healing.
- Instruct and fit patients on appropriate assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to enhance mobility and safety.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, injury prevention, body mechanics, and ergonomics.
- Develop and adjust pain-management strategies using therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy.
- Support patients’ return to independence after surgery, injury, or illness through targeted rehab.
- Document assessments, treatments, progress, and plan modifications accurately and timely.
- Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists to optimize outcomes.
- Provide individualized home exercise programs to promote ongoing recovery.
- Maintain ethical, legal, and culturally responsive care, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
