Neurosurgeon — Sacramento, CA (Part-Time/Shift-Based; $2,500/Shift)

Join a collaborative surgical team in Sacramento, California, providing acute neurosurgical care for patients presenting through the Emergency Department and transfer center. This role emphasizes inpatient consultative service, management of select trauma cases, and operative care alongside ED physicians, hospitalists, and an experienced ICU team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide neurosurgical consultations for inpatients and acute admissions
• Manage trauma and urgent neurosurgical cases as required
• Perform operative procedures in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical quality
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and care teams
• Contribute to operational and clinical decision-making to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Active California medical license or ability to obtain one
• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient satisfaction
• Demonstrated clinical excellence and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

Schedule & workload

• Predictable schedule: 2 weeks per month (26 weeks per year)
• 183 days annually qualifies as full-time
• Opportunities to perform both elective and emergency procedures
