We’re seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join a team in Lanham, MD for a 14-week contract beginning ASAP. This is a Monday–Friday position (08:00 AM–04:30 PM). Compensation is competitive: Travel rate $2,317/35-hours; Local rate $2,282/35-hours.

What you’ll bring

  • Valid, active Physical Therapy state license
  • Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED included)

What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on, patient-centered care across the continuum of rehabilitation. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, review medical histories, and collaborate with the healthcare team to define patient needs
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals for recovery and function
  • Design and lead tailored exercise programs to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination
  • Use manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) to restore mobility and relieve pain
  • Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold as appropriate
  • Train patients in safe and effective use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs)
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention
  • Create and instruct on home exercise programs to support continued progress outside of therapy sessions
  • Develop and adjust pain-management strategies using exercise, modalities, and manual therapy
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve quality of life
  • Continuously evaluate and document patient progress, updating plans as needed
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatments, and progress notes while upholding legal and ethical standards (confidentiality, informed consent)
  • Provide culturally sensitive care and respond to the needs of diverse patient populations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
