We’re looking for a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in Lanham, MD on a 14-week contract (start ASAP). This is a Monday–Friday position, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Pay rates: Travel $2,317/35 hrs; Local $2,282/35 hrs.

What you’ll bring

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy state license.
  • Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (must include AED).

What you’ll do
You’ll perform comprehensive evaluations, review medical histories, and work closely with the care team to understand each patient’s needs. From there you’ll create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals and deliver hands-on and functional therapies to help patients recover independence and improve quality of life.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Completing thorough physical assessments and documenting findings.
  • Designing and implementing customized exercise programs to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Applying manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) to improve mobility and relieve pain.
  • Utilizing modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold when appropriate.
  • Teaching safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and providing practical gait training.
  • Educating patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Developing and adjusting pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Creating personalized home exercise programs and monitoring progress toward rehabilitation goals.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatments, progress notes, and changes in condition.
  • Communicating and collaborating with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care.
  • Following ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards, and demonstrating cultural sensitivity in patient interactions.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.
