Join a Rutland, VT team as a contract Physical Therapist for a 14-week assignment starting ASAP. Schedule: 08:00 AM–4:30 PM. Compensation: Travel rate $1,876/35-hr week; Local rate $1,848/35-hr week.
Requirements:
- Active, valid Physical Therapy state license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).
Key responsibilities:
- Perform thorough physical assessments and review medical histories to determine patient needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable rehabilitation goals.
- Create and lead customized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
- Use manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) to enhance mobility and reduce pain.
- Apply therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to manage pain and support healing.
- Instruct patients in safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
- Implement pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
- Guide patients toward functional independence following surgery, injury, or illness to improve quality of life.
- Continually evaluate and document progress; modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
- Provide individualized home exercise programs to support recovery between visits.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and adhere to ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and provide patient-centered care for diverse populations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
