We’re seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join a team in Lanham, MD on a 14-week contract starting ASAP. You’ll work weekdays (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) and help patients regain function and independence after injury, surgery, or illness. Travel pay: $2,317/35-hours; Local: $2,282/35-hours.

What we need from you

  • Current, active Physical Therapy state license.
  • CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED included).

What you’ll be doing

  • Perform thorough evaluations: review medical history, conduct physical assessments, and collaborate with the care team to identify patient needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals for recovery and function.
  • Design and lead therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use manual techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and therapeutic stretching—to restore mobility and relieve pain.
  • Apply physical modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to control pain, inflammation, and promote healing.
  • Train and advise patients in the safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Implement pain management strategies using exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Monitor and document progress, adjust plans as needed, and provide tailored home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and adhere to legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care and respond to diverse patient needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
