**General Surgery Opportunity**
**Location: Wolfeboro, New Hampshire near Lake Winnipesaukee**
**Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred**
• Reports to the Chief Medical Officer and provides comprehensive surgical care across diagnosis, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management, including complication management
• Practice in a community-focused setting serving the Lakes Region with an emphasis on compassionate, high-quality care

Patient Care – Preoperative Responsibilities
• Conducts thorough patient evaluations, including history, physical exam, and surgical risk assessment
• Develops and implements individualized plans of care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Diagnoses conditions and determines appropriate medical and surgical treatments
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, medications, and referrals
• Educates patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, risks, and expected outcomes
• Obtains informed consent and ensures patient understanding of surgical interventions
• Coordinates with perioperative teams to optimize patient readiness and minimize risk
• Prescribes pre- and post-operative treatments (e.g., medications, diets, preparation protocols)
• Facilitates clear, compassionate communication and addresses patient concerns

Patient Care – Intraoperative & Postoperative Responsibilities
• Performs a broad range of surgical procedures (invasive, minimally invasive, and non-invasive)
• Anticipates, identifies, and manages postoperative complications and comorbid conditions
• Leads and coordinates surgical teams, including nurses, assistants, and specialists
• Participates in surgical planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Maintains high standards of patient experience and service excellence
• Responds promptly and professionally to patient needs and concerns

Practice & Program Development
• Collaborates with leadership and staff to support quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcomes
• Ensures compliance with billing, coding, and documentation standards (including CPT coding)
• Utilizes electronic medical records (EMR) to maintain best practice workflows
• Contributes to the growth and development of general surgery services based on community needs
• Participates in the creation of clinical protocols, procedures, and care pathways
• Provides consultation and surgical support to other providers
• Engages in community outreach and education initiatives

• Participates in on-call coverage and collaborates closely with surgical colleagues
• Maintains up-to-date clinical knowledge and applies evidence-based practices
• Contributes to teaching, mentorship, and departmental development as needed

• Advises leadership on operational or clinical challenges impacting efficiency or care quality

Qualifications
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited general surgery residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Surgery
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Hampshire
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred
