We’re looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join a team in Bowie, MD on a 14-week contract (start ASAP). This position follows an 08:00 AM–04:30 PM schedule and offers competitive pay (Travel: $2,317/35 hours; Local: $2,282/35 hours).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform thorough evaluations, review medical histories, and collaborate with other clinicians to identify each patient’s needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable rehabilitation goals.
  • Design and lead therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and manual stretching—to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Employ modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to manage pain, inflammation, and tissue healing.
  • Instruct patients in safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to enhance mobility and independence.
  • Teach patients and families about diagnoses, treatment goals, injury prevention, body mechanics, and ergonomics.
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence following surgery, injury, or illness, focusing on improving quality of life.
  • Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as patients advance or needs change.
  • Communicate regularly with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Provide customized home exercise programs to support carryover and long-term recovery.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records including assessments, treatments, progress notes, and changes in condition.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice—maintain confidentiality and obtain informed consent.
  • Practice cultural sensitivity and tailor care to meet diverse patient needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy license for the state.
  • Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED).
