Locum Thoracic Surgery APP (NP/PA) — Bridgeport, CT — OR First Assist & Clinic (Robotic/Minimally Invasive)

Join a collaborative thoracic surgery team in Bridgeport, CT, as a Locum Advanced Practice Provider. This role suits an experienced NP (or PA) with thoracic and robotic surgery expertise who wants to practice in a high-quality surgical program focused on minimally invasive techniques.

Compensation: $180 per hour

Assignment details

• Schedule: 3–4 days per week
• Shift length: 10 hours
• Call: unlikely
• Clinical mix: OR first assist, inpatient care, and outpatient clinic

Practice setting

• Dedicated thoracic surgery practice emphasizing minimally invasive and robotic procedures
• Case mix includes lung and foregut surgery
• Team-oriented surgical and inpatient environment

Key responsibilities

• Serve as first assist in thoracic surgical cases, including robotic procedures
• Manage outpatient clinic visits and pre-/post-operative evaluations
• Provide inpatient care: daily rounding, admissions, and discharges
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain timely, accurate EMR documentation

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut NP or PA license required
• Proven experience in non-cardiac thoracic surgery required
• Robotic surgery experience required
• Experience with minimally invasive thoracic procedures preferred
• Comfortable managing both inpatient and outpatient thoracic surgical patients
