Job Description
Job ID: Thoracic Surgery NP/PA
Provide advanced practice care for adult thoracic surgery patients in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings in Bridgeport, CT. This locum tenens assignment runs 07/27/2026–10/31/2026, with a clinical schedule of 3–4 days per week (10-hour shifts). On-call is unlikely.
Responsibilities:
- First assist in the OR for thoracic, lung, foregut, and minimally invasive/robotic procedures
- Perform inpatient rounding, admissions, discharges, and ongoing inpatient management
- Evaluate and manage clinic patients and coordinate outpatient care
- Collaborate with the thoracic surgery team and specialty backup to ensure high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Requirements:
- NP or PA, board certified or board eligible
- Active CT license preferred
- Demonstrated experience in thoracic (non-cardiac) and robotic surgery; minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery experience preferred
- Ability to perform first assist duties in the operating room
- Current influenza vaccination required
Facility & Privileges:
- Hospital-based practice with outpatient clinic coverage
- Specialty backup provided by the thoracic surgery team
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges and credentialing timeline to be determined
