LPN/LVN - Long Term Care (17-week Contract, Night Shift) - Albuquerque, NM

Join our team in Albuquerque, NM as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a 17-week, contract (non-travel) assignment starting ASAP. This evening/night position works Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. Local rate: $1,019 per 36 hours.

Requirements:

• Current, active LPN licensure in the state of New Mexico
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
• Conduct focused patient assessments—physical exams, medication reviews, and histories—to inform individualized care plans.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and IV therapies; monitor infusion sites and IV function.
• Perform wound management: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for signs of infection or complications.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate, timely medical records.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and assist with routine diagnostic testing.
• Manage urinary catheters, including insertion, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management; respond to emergencies using established protocols and BLS as needed.
• Follow strict infection control practices and safe medication/storage/disposal procedures.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and, when applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Advocate for patient rights and needs and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
