Rate: Local $914 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Position overview:
Provide direct patient care under RN or physician supervision in an acute care setting. Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions, contribute to care planning, and support interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform focused patient assessments (vital signs, physical exam, history, medication review) and document changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and ensuring correct dosing.
  • Provide wound care: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for infection or complications.
  • Start, monitor, and maintain IV lines and infusions as indicated.
  • Manage urinary catheters, including insertion, routine care, and complication surveillance.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain precise, timely documentation of nursing care, treatments, and patient responses.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Support patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management, and basic hygiene.
  • Respond to emergencies, provide BLS, and follow established protocols.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and coordinate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to optimize care.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and comply with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
