Join a Gallup, NM team as a Licensed Practical Nurse for an immediate, 8-week contract (local, non-travel). This evening-to-overnight role runs 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. Pay is $1,145 per 36-hour week. Start ASAP.

What we need from you

  • Active, valid LPN state license.
  • Current BLS certification.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide direct patient care under the direction of RNs and physicians: med administration, wound care, vital signs, and routine assessments.
  • Complete focused patient assessments (history, physical checks, medication review) and help develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting doses.
  • Clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications.
  • Regularly monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and note changes in condition.
  • Maintain clear, timely patient documentation of treatments, observations, and medication administration.
  • Teach patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Start, monitor, and troubleshoot IV lines and IV medications/fluids as required.
  • Provide catheter care, including insertion when appropriate, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab analysis following facility procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to coordinate safe, effective care.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, pain management, and fall precautions.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide basic life support when needed.
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Promote wellness through vaccinations, screenings, and patient education.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and rights to ensure they receive appropriate care.
  • Stay up to date with nursing best practices, licensing requirements, and training.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
