Hours: 36 hours
Rate: Local: $1,174 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction (medication administration, wound care, vital signs).
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, following protocols.
  • Manage wounds: assess, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids; ensure IV line integrity and function.
  • Provide urinary catheter care, including insertion support, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing as needed.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management).
  • Respond to emergencies following facility protocols and provide basic life support when required.
  • Follow infection control policies (hand hygiene, PPE) and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
  • Participate in ongoing education to remain current with nursing practices and regulations.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
