Requirements

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• BLS certification

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and routine treatments.
• Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documentation standards.
• Manage wounds/incisions: assess, clean, dress, and monitor for infection/complications.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate medical records.
• Insert, manage, and monitor IV lines and IV therapy as indicated.
• Care for urinary catheters: insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing (blood, urine, sputum).
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, and basic pain management.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocols.
• Follow infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
• Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
• Advocate for patient rights and needs.
• May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.
