Position: Licensed Practical Nurse — Contract, Non-Travel
Start: ASAP
Duration: 8 weeks
Schedule: Night shift, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM (Sun–Sat)
Rate: Local: $634 / 16 hours

Required credentials

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • BLS certification

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol.
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds, incisions, and injuries for infection or complications.
  • Monitor, record, and report vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation of assessments, treatments, medications, and condition changes.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and prevention measures.
  • Insert, manage, and monitor IV lines; administer and assess IV medications and fluids as permitted by scope.
  • Provide urinary catheter care, including insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing according to procedure.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Address patient comfort and safety needs (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management).
  • Respond to emergencies following protocol and provide basic life support as required.
  • Follow infection control policies (hand hygiene, PPE) and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and appropriate care.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing education to maintain current nursing practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
