Travel Physical Therapist (PT) — 14-Week Contract in Fairmont, WV

We’re looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join a busy outpatient team in Fairmont, WV for a 14-week contract starting ASAP. This is a Monday–Friday position (8:00 AM–4:30 PM). Travel pay is $2,195/35-hrs and local pay is $2,163/35-hrs.

What you’ll do

• Perform thorough physical assessments and review medical histories to understand each patient’s needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to develop coordinated care plans.
• Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable rehabilitation goals.
• Design and lead therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
• Use hands-on techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching—to improve mobility and reduce pain.
• Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold treatments to support healing and manage symptoms.
• Train patients in the safe and effective use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, recovery expectations, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
• Develop pain-management strategies using exercises, modalities, and manual therapy.
• Support patients’ return to independence after surgery, injury, or illness, modifying interventions as progress dictates.
• Provide clear home exercise programs and document progress, treatment changes, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent, and practice within legal and ethical standards.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adapt care to each patient’s background and needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Active, valid Physical Therapy license for the state.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED included).
