Join a team in Waldorf, MD as a contract Physical Therapist for a 14-week assignment starting ASAP. You’ll work a consistent schedule (Sun–Sat, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) and support patients through recovery with hands-on care and individualized plans. Travel pay: $2,516/38 hours; Local pay: $2,478/38 hours.

What we’re looking for

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy state license.
  • Current AHA or Red Cross CPR/BLS certification (including AED).

What you’ll do

  • Perform thorough evaluations: review medical history, complete physical assessments, and collaborate with the care team to identify patient needs.
  • Create clear, goal-driven treatment plans tailored to each patient’s rehab or recovery objectives.
  • Design and lead individualized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) to improve mobility and relieve pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities—ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold—to reduce pain, inflammation, and promote healing.
  • Instruct patients on safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and recommend adaptive equipment as needed.
  • Teach patients and families about diagnoses, treatment goals, home exercise programs, body mechanics, and injury prevention.
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies using exercises, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness, focusing on functional outcomes and quality of life.
  • Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as patients improve or needs change.
  • Communicate regularly with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards of practice, maintain patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent, and provide culturally responsive care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
