Rate: Travel $1,860/40 hrs; Local $1,556/40 hrs

Required qualifications

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician oversight: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, ADL assistance.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer and monitor medications and treatments per orders and policies; ensure accurate dosing and documentation.
  • Manage wounds/incisions: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient records and medication logs.
  • Initiate and manage IV therapy as authorized: insertion, maintenance, infusion monitoring.
  • Care for urinary catheters: insertion (as authorized), maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to ensure coordinated care.
  • Address patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies according to protocol and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control protocols and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned.
  • Maintain current knowledge through ongoing education and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
