Cardiovascular/CT Surgery APP (PA/NP) — First Assist + Vein Harvest, 1:4 Call, OR/Clinic/ICU Split

Join a high-performing cardiothoracic surgery team supporting 1–2 surgeons in a dynamic OR, clinic, and ICU environment. This role combines operative first-assist duties, perioperative care, and outpatient management across a balanced clinical split.

Schedule and call

• Typical hours: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 1:4 call rotation (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
• Flexible scheduling options available (days, nights, weekends)

Clinical breakdown

• OR: 30% (operative first assist)
• Clinic: 40% (pre- and post-op outpatient care)
• ICU: 30% (postoperative critical care and rounding)

Key responsibilities

• Serve as first assist in cardiac and cardiothoracic procedures
• Perform open and endoscopic vein harvesting
• Manage perioperative and postoperative patient care in ICU and clinic
• Participate in on-call coverage and cross-functional team coordination
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record

Required qualifications

• Proven first-assist experience in cardiothoracic surgery
• Competency in open and endoscopic vein harvesting (required)
• Current ACLS certification
• Active state license (preferred)

Preferred skills

• Experience with Epic EMR
• Strong surgical judgement, effective communication, and teamwork skills
