Seeking a board-certified Pediatrician for locum tenens inpatient call-only coverage in Worcester, MA (01608). Coverage runs May 29, 2026 – Dec 31, 2026 with beeper call; physician will provide backup NICU MD on-call coverage and manage assigned patients.
Facility and systems
- Inpatient setting; EMR: Cerner
- Temporary hospital privileges available (no prior hospital privileges required)
Clinical expectations and preferred procedures
- Neonatal and pediatric ventilatory management (invasive and non-invasive), neonatal resuscitation devices (neo-puff), endotracheal intubation, central and arterial line placement, UVC/UAC, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, exchange transfusion, feeding/swallow evaluations, basic wound care and minor laceration suturing, circumcision
- Experience with critical care procedures: bronchoscopy with BAL, ICP evaluation/monitoring, PA catheter, temporary pacemaker, hemodialysis catheter placement, interpretation of X‑ray and EKG
- Familiarity with advanced neonatal therapies (iNO, ECMO) and attendance at high-risk/cesarean deliveries preferred
Requirements
- Board-certified in Pediatrics (BC required)
- MA medical license
- PALS certification
- Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine or Pediatric Critical Care preferred
