Position: RN – Labor & Delivery
Location: 6777 W. Maple Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48322
Assignment Type: 13-Week Contract with possible extention
Start Date: Jun19, 2026 (Tentative) 
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
Compensation: $60-$65 Houlry on W2

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity women’s health team in West Bloomfield. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive intrapartum and postpartum nursing care, including patient assessment, fetal monitoring, labor support, emergency response, and coordination with the interdisciplinary care team. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery.
• Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments, including interpretation of fetal heart rate tracings.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and labor-related interventions within scope of practice.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and obstetric emergencies (e.g., PPH, shoulder dystocia, preeclampsia).
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Support patient education on labor expectations, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure safe outcomes.
• Uphold infection control, patient safety, and quality-of-care protocols at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience, including postpartum care.
• Active Michigan RN License (unrestricted).
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications – Mandatory.
• Strong clinical skills in fetal monitoring, labor progression assessment, and obstetric emergency response.
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, high-stress clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and EMR charting systems.
• Previous travel nursing or large hospital system experience.
