Location: Douglas, WY (25-bed Critical Access Hospital; ~5,500 ED visits/year; Avg daily census ~10; Trauma Level III)
Start: ASAP
Minimum qualifications
- Pharm.D. from an accredited institution
- Active, unrestricted Wyoming pharmacist license
- Minimum 2 years pharmacy experience
Preferred qualifications
- Pharmacy residency completion
- Board certification in a pharmacy specialty
- Prior clinical or hospital pharmacy experience
Required skills and knowledge
- Pharmacology, therapeutics, and pharmaceutical calculations
- Proficiency with pharmacy systems and healthcare technology
- Strong communication, patient counseling, and leadership skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to continuing professional development
Compliance
- Flu vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption
- COVID-19 vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption
Key duties and responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and review/interpret physician orders
- Provide medication therapy management and monitor patient outcomes
- Educate and counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Manage inventory, medication ordering, and pharmaceutical supply chain tasks
- Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize therapy
- Provide medication education and clinical support to clinical staff
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns
