Join a busy Arlington, TX acute care team as a locum OB/GYN covering clinical shifts plus in-house call. This is a 13-week assignment running Nov 9, 2026–Feb 8, 2027 with 24-hour in-house call shifts (typically 4–6 shifts per month). Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided by the agency.
What you’ll be treating
- Obstetric and gynecologic patients across the labor and delivery unit and OB Emergency Department.
Facility and support
- 369-bed acute care hospital using Epic.
- Robust in-house coverage including a neonatologist, 24/7 anesthesia, OB/GYN hospitalists, certified nurse midwives, and family medicine physicians.
Credentials and timeline
- Credentialing typically takes 30–90 days.
- Required: Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Texas medical license (or IMLC), completion of an ACGME OB/GYN residency with robotics training, and recent delivery and surgical experience.
Core responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients in the OBED and care for unassigned OB/GYN patients.
- Monitor labor, interpret fetal heart tracings, and perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Act as the primary safety net for the labor and delivery unit and provide consults for pregnancy-related and gynecologic issues.
- Respond to obstetrical emergencies, manage evolving labor complications, and assess postpartum patients before discharge.
- Participate in emergency drills and quality improvement activities focused on maternal and neonatal outcomes.
