Rate: Local: $610 / 24 hours

Requirements

  • Valid, active LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, ADL assistance.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for signs of infection or complication.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and clinical changes.
  • Insert, assess, maintain, and monitor IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids per facility policy.
  • Manage urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring) and recognize complications.
  • Collect and label specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain accurate patient records: condition changes, treatments, medications, and interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, prevention, and discharge instructions.
  • Support patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
  • Adhere to infection control practices and PPE use.
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) for coordinated care.
  • Advocate for patient rights and appropriate care.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain competency through ongoing education and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
