We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Santa Fe, NM team on a 9-week contract (local, non-travel) starting ASAP. This role works Monday–Wednesday, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM, and pays $1,116 per 36-hour week.

What you’ll bring

  • Active, valid LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • Current BLS certification

What you’ll do

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Perform patient assessments—take histories, conduct focused physical exams, and review medications—to help develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and follow established protocols.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and any changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain clear, accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and condition changes.
  • Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids, ensuring proper line function and site care.
  • Provide care related to urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring).
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Work collaboratively with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, following protocols and providing basic life support when needed.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Promote preventive health measures (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and rights within the healthcare team.
  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and training.
  • May supervise CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
