Minimum Requirements

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• BLS certification

Core Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
• Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer and monitor prescribed medications and IV fluids; ensure accurate dosing and documentation.
• Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds, incisions, and potential infections or complications.
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient records and medication logs.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing per protocol.
• Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, pain management.
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and self-care.
• Follow infection control policies and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
• Respond to emergencies using appropriate protocols and basic life support as needed.
• Coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff; may supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights and needs.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
