Locum Tenens Urologist – WellSpan York Hospital (13-week, Level I Trauma, OR/Robotic Available)

Locum tenens opportunity with WellSpan York Hospital providing clinical and beeper call coverage for the Urology service (Job ID: 1175-65752). Coverage: Jul 4–Oct 3, 2026 (13 weeks) with specific coverage weeks Jul 4–10 and Jul 27–31. Shift: daytime with 24-hour beeper call (7a–7a); 10-hour call shifts (7a–5p) on Jul 10 & Jul 31. Callback averages 2–6 hours/day.

Clinical scope: Adult urology practice (rare pediatric torsion emergencies). Average daily volume 24–28 patients. Common procedures: cystoscopy (OR), prostate procedures, vasectomy, ureteroscopy (OR), lithotripsy, orchiopexy. Robotic surgery is available but not required. Responsibilities include providing 24-hour beeper call coverage, performing listed procedures, supervising new APPs (NPs/PAs), managing office visits and patient panels, and documenting in Epic.

Facility highlights: WellSpan York Hospital (Level I trauma) with 16 ORs across sites, full cystoscopy towers, injections, and dedicated support staff (RNs, MAs, office staff). Temporary privileges can be granted for urgent needs with clean files; permanent hospital privileges required for standard coverage. Credentialing timeline: 90 days; providers must be fully cleared 2 business days before start for non-urgent credentialing.

Provider requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology; minimum one year of experience (new graduates accepted). Active PA medical license or IMLC LOQ required, plus DEA with PA address. Required documentation: CV, coversheet, provider questionnaire, NPDB self-query within 6 months, full malpractice disclosure, and exact availability dates. Submissions without rates or incomplete documentation will be rejected. Work history: 7 years or 10 assignments. Screening excludes malpractice settlements >$500K or more than three settlements (except older cases >20 years). Vaccination proof or positive titers for HepB and childhood vaccines required; declinations not accepted.
