Job Description
Join a high-acuity neonatal program in Kansas City, MO, providing comprehensive inpatient care for premature and critically ill newborns. This permanent position supports an annual NICU volume of over 450 admissions with an average daily census of 30 and includes ongoing clinical duties with shared call responsibilities (schedule TBD).
Clinical responsibilities
- Provide hands-on care, rounding, and phone consults as needed for a diverse neonatal population, including extremely low gestational age neonates (ELGANs, down to 22 weeks).
- Manage advanced therapies: inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), and therapeutic hypothermia.
- Participate in a telehealth-supported coverage model and collaborate with board-certified neonatologists and 24/7 neonatal nurse practitioner support.
Facility and team
- Primary site: 49-bed Level IIIB NICU
- Additional responsibilities across a 15‑bed Level IIIA NICU, a growing Level II NICU, and well-baby units

Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Active Missouri medical license and DEA registration
- Clean professional record preferred; most recent NPDB self-query report (within 30 days)
- Demonstrated experience managing high-acuity neonatal cases and advanced neonatal therapies
