Primary duties
- Provide inpatient neurosurgery coverage for nights and weekends
- Manage adult and pediatric neurosurgical patients in acute/inpatient, ER, surgical, and mental health/psych settings as needed
- Collaborate with neurosurgery attendings and surgical team
- Document all care in Epic EHR
Facility & systems
- EMR: Epic
Credentials, licensing & certifications
- Board: Board Certified in Neurosurgery (must be Board Certified)
- Licenses: Active South Carolina license required (if active SC license, privileging may take up to 4 months; without SC license, 5–6 months)
- DEA: Required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS
- Experience: Minimum 1 year (must be out of training and practicing medicine for at least 2 years)
- Background: Clean background required; must have a clean medical-legal history (if a case was dismissed, contact recruiter before presenting)
Privileging & compliance
- Credentialing timeline: 60–90 days (see license notes above)
- Providers returning to Prisma as locum must have been unemployed from Prisma for at least one full calendar year
Submission requirements
- Applicants must submit updated CV, Qualivis Presentation Form, and Qualivis Questionnaire
- Include all requested time-off on presentation form (Prisma requires upfront disclosure)
- Providers with Epic experience may test out; otherwise virtual Epic training provided (Tuesdays only)
Other
- Local providers: within 60-mile radius are considered local; local rule not accepted for CRNA roles
