Location: Boston, MA (just south of Boston)
Full-time, 4-day work week; variable shifts; no nighttime or weekend call.
Position summary:
Provide inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care as part of an established team. Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, nursing, and rehabilitation staff to evaluate and manage musculoskeletal conditions, assist in perioperative care, perform follow-up visits, and support patient education and discharge planning.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative orthopedic patients
- Assist in surgeries and fracture care as directed by surgeons
- Order and interpret imaging and labs; initiate appropriate treatment plans
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care and communicate with patients/families
- Document visits, procedures, and care plans in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical protocols
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- BLS certification (or ability to obtain)
- Orthopedic, surgical, or hospital experience preferred; new graduates with strong orthopedic interest considered
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
- Eligible for state licensure and credentialing
