Hospital-based cardiovascular surgery locum opportunity in Greenville, SC for holiday weekend 24-hour call coverage. Ideal for an experienced, board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon comfortable managing complex inpatient cases and performing emergent interventions.

Position details

• Weekend coverage: Required
• Practice setting: Hospital (inpatient rounding and surgical coverage)

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiovascular surgery call coverage for the assigned weekend
• Perform inpatient hospital rounding and manage postoperative care
• Evaluate and manage acute cardiovascular surgical conditions
• Perform emergent and urgent surgical procedures as indicated
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiology, critical care, and other hospital staff
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Required procedures & experience

• Aneurysm repair
• Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
• Heart valve replacement procedures
• Other cardiothoracic surgical procedures as needed

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Fellowship training in Cardiovascular Surgery
• Board certified in Cardiovascular Surgery
• Active South Carolina medical license required (candidates requiring licensure will not be considered)
• Current ACLS certification required
