Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — High-Acuity Phoenix Center, Above-Market Pay

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Overview:
Provide locum tenens coverage at a high-acuity, physician-led trauma center. Join a collaborative, well-supported orthopedic trauma team and work in a hospital-based setting with strong clinical infrastructure.

Assignment details:

• Shift model: 24-hour shifts
• Frequency: ~183 shifts/year (flexible scheduling options)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery between rotations
• Clinical mix: OR, inpatient care, follow-up clinic
• Team: work alongside an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon
• Coverage model: dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery support

Clinical responsibilities:

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Trauma call coverage at a high-volume center
• Management of complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaboration with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance of surgical cases, inpatient care, and outpatient follow-up
• Timely and accurate documentation

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Pelvic and acetabular fracture expertise preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
