Locums Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician — High-Volume High-Risk MFM, Epic, Level III Nursery (Mechanicsville, VA)

Location: Mechanicsville, Virginia (suburb of Richmond)

Schedule & Call

• Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:15 PM
• Weekday call: nightly coverage
• Weekend call: 24-hour coverage (weekend coverage required)
• On-call: weekdays and weekends

Clinical Details

• Patient volume: average 27 scheduled patients/day
• Case mix: ~95% high-risk pregnancies, 5% low-risk
• Nursery: Level III
• EMR: Epic, Viewpoint

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient MFM care
• Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing management of complex pregnancies
• Manage urgent and emergent MFM issues while on call
• Collaborate with OB/GYN, neonatology, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Required Procedures & Skills

• Amniocentesis; CVS
• Cerclage (preferred)
• Management of: pre-eclampsia/hypertension, multiple gestations, fetal growth restriction, chromosomal/congenital/genetic abnormalities, preterm labor, thrombophilia, birth defects, and complex maternal/fetal comorbidities
• Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Completion of accredited MFM fellowship
• Active Virginia medical license
• BLS certification
• AIUM certification
