Locum Tenens OB/GYN Hospitalist — 7a7p L&D Coverage in Warren, OH (Epic, VBACs, Csections)

Join a team in Warren, Ohio providing obstetric and gynecologic hospital coverage in a collaborative, supportive setting. This locum tenens opportunity is for a board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN who can start ASAP and provide ongoing clinical coverage and beeper call support.

Schedule & Coverage

• Shift: Days, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Call: Beeper call coverage as needed (including back-up for midwives overnight)
• Coverage type: Clinical duties on L&D plus on-call responsibilities
• Reason: Supplemental coverage due to staffing shortages

Patients & Case Mix

• Adult female patients in OB/GYN service
• Mix includes low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, GYN emergencies, VBACs, and both routine and complicated deliveries

Facility & Support

• EMR: Epic
• On-site backup: OB/GYN physician and certified nurse-midwife (CNM)
• Support team: RNs and CNMs available to assist

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide laborist coverage on the L&D unit during assigned shifts
• Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies (e.g., preeclampsia, diabetes, renal or pulmonary disease, cardiac class II+)
• Attend and make clinical decisions for vaginal deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries (low forceps), C-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs
• Repair 3rd- and 4th-degree perineal lacerations
• Cover gynecologic emergencies and perform minor laparoscopic procedures (diagnostic, tubal ligation, lysis of adhesions, chromotubation) and select open gynecologic surgeries
• Document care in Epic and collaborate closely with nursing and CNM staff

Credentials & Requirements

• Board: BC/BE in OB/GYN
• Licensure: Active Ohio medical license preferred or willingness to obtain one
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Privileges: Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline up to 120 days
• Compliance: Self-query NPDB report required
