Locum Tenens OB/GYN Hospitalist — HighRisk Obstetrics (Minneapolis, MN)

Join a busy obstetrics team in Minneapolis providing inpatient, hospital-based care for adult obstetric patients. You’ll work primarily in-house on 24-hour call shifts (7 a.m.–7 a.m.), with 12-hour shift options also available. Coverage begins July 13, 2026 and continues on an ongoing locum tenens basis.

What the role looks like

• Provide OB hospitalist coverage for high‑risk pregnancies, including patients followed by maternal‑fetal medicine (MFM). No gynecology service is required.
• Respond to urgent OB needs and emergencies on the labor and delivery unit and assist colleagues with cesarean deliveries and other obstetrical procedures.
• Manage unassigned/undoctored OB patients at Abbott Northwestern and other affiliated facilities as needed.
• Collaborate closely with MFM specialists and certified nurse midwives to ensure comprehensive, team-based care.

Typical patient and volume

• Adult obstetric population with a significant high‑risk case mix (MFM patients).
• Roughly 11–12 deliveries per day.

Facility and support

• Electronic medical records: Epic (Excellian) and Obix.
• Specialty backup: Maternal‑Fetal Medicine specialists and Certified Nurse Midwives are available.
• Trauma Level I or II experience is required for this environment.

Credentials and logistics

• Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• MN medical license highly preferred; Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) accepted.
• BLS required.
• Hospital privileges are required; temporary emergency privileges are available. Expect a credentialing timeline of about 90–120 days.
