Join a regional referral hospital in Winchester, VA as a locum tenens Emergency Medicine physician covering Valley Health facilities. You’ll work clinically in a busy, 495-bed, Level III Trauma Center using Epic, with full specialty backup and a multidisciplinary support team including EM physicians, APPs, nurses, and ancillary services.

Schedule & Coverage

• Locum tenens clinical coverage starting August 1, 2026, ongoing
• Shift times include 7a–7p, 9a–8p, 10a–10p, 1p–1a, 4p–3a, and 7p–7a

Patients & Case Mix

• Care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Admissions expected
• Case mix includes emergency medicine, trauma, medical and surgical emergencies, and critical care

Facility & Tools

• 495-bed regional referral facility, Level III Trauma Center
• Epic EMR in use
• Standard emergency department equipment provided
• Full specialty support available through Valley Health Network

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency medical conditions
• Manage trauma patients and critically ill patients; perform emergency resuscitation and airway management
• Carry out emergency department procedures and critical care interventions within scope of practice
• Coordinate care with specialists and inpatient teams
• Document patient care in Epic and support quality and patient care initiatives

Credentials & Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license or IMLC eligibility (if applicable)
• ABEM board certification
• Active DEA registration
• Current emergency medicine credentials and relevant experience; fellowship preferred

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges and credentialing timeline to be determined
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided
