Adelphi seeks a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist to deliver direct and consultative school-based services in Oakland County, Michigan. The therapist will assess, plan, implement, and document occupational therapy interventions in alignment with Michigan and federal special education requirements, supporting students’ functional participation and independence.

Requirements

  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan
  • Previous occupational therapy experience; school-aged student experience preferred
  • Familiarity with special education processes (IEPs, Section 504) and school-based therapy delivery
  • Skill conducting functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments
  • Strong written documentation, reporting, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to provide consistent on-site support during the school day
  • Residence within a 40-minute commute to ensure reliable service delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations for students with suspected disabilities per Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE)
  • Develop occupational profiles and assess functional abilities using standardized tests, observation, interviews, and checklists
  • Interpret assessment data and produce written evaluation reports, progress updates, and recommendations in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Design and implement occupationally based intervention plans aligned with evaluation findings, IEP goals, and Section 504 requirements
  • Deliver and document direct therapy services consistent with student IEPs and 504 plans
  • Participate in multidisciplinary and IEPT meetings to share findings, contribute to goal development, and coordinate services
  • Consult with school staff, parents, and other stakeholders to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of services and outcomes
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
