Practice environment

• ED with 15 beds and Level 3 trauma designation.
• Average census ~77 patients/day (≈28,000 annual volume) across a broad mix of acute and non-acute emergency presentations.
• EMR: Epic. Support staff includes RNs and NP/PA coverage (16 hours/day).

Position requirements

• Board eligible/certified in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine. Residency-trained physicians and new graduates are welcome.
• Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license; active DEA with LA address; Louisiana Controlled Substance (CDS) license. Supervising Physician license required if supervising PAs.
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (waived if ABEM-certified and actively participating in MOC).
• Documentation: case logs and CMEs from the past 2 years; current immunizations (flu, TB, COVID-19).
• Must be eligible to supervise NP/PA providers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages and manage Level 3 trauma cases.
• Supervise and collaborate with NPs and PAs during assigned shifts.
• Manage patient flow to support timely evaluation, treatment, disposition, and departmental performance metrics.
• Perform and oversee procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine, including sedation when indicated.
• Maintain accurate, complete documentation in Epic.
