Minimum Requirements
- MA or MS in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Eligible for Oregon Teaching License with Speech Impaired Endorsement or Oregon Board of Examiners Speech Pathology License
- Experience providing itinerant services in public schools
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligibility for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Current CPR training
- Experience and aptitude working with children with special needs
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and follow through on responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive diagnostic speech/language assessments; participate on assessment teams as needed
- Process referrals and manage assigned caseloads per department policies, including scheduling and conducting meetings and conferences
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review IEPs; ensure services align with IEP goals and document student progress
- Provide direct and indirect speech, hearing, and language services in accordance with students’ IEPs and needs
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction that accounts for cultural, behavioral, motivational, and ability differences
- Communicate and collaborate with parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and community partners regarding student progress, services, and program coordination
- Maintain required documentation, reports, and records; ensure confidentiality and compliance with laws, policies, and regulations
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment that preserves student dignity and supports learning
- Provide in-service training as needed; supervise assistants or volunteers; prepare instructional plans; follow curriculum and policy guidelines; pursue professional growth; meet evaluation standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
