Job Description

Ref #: C-LPN-9134023

We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a healthcare team in Albuquerque, NM on a 13-week contract (non-travel). Start ASAP. Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM. Local rate: $914/36 hours.

What you’ll need

  • Active, valid LPN license for New Mexico
  • BLS certification

What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction—administering medications and IV therapies, monitoring vital signs, performing wound care, and helping with catheter care. You’ll complete focused assessments (medical history, physical checks, medication reviews) and help create and update individualized care plans. Documentation is important: you’ll accurately chart changes in condition, treatments given, and patient responses.

Daily duties include:

  • Administering medications and treatments safely and following facility protocols
  • Starting, monitoring, and caring for IV lines and infusions
  • Cleaning, dressing, and evaluating wounds; watching closely for infection or complications
  • Monitoring and recording vitals (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations)
  • Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Assisting with mobility, positioning, pain management, and general comfort
  • Educating patients and families about diagnoses, meds, and self-care
  • Following strict infection control practices and using PPE appropriately
  • Handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies safely
  • Responding promptly to emergencies and providing basic life support as needed
  • Promoting preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocating for patients’ needs
  • Collaborating with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to ensure coordinated care
  • Occasionally supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required
  • Participating in ongoing education to stay current with best practices

You’ll also perform other duties as assigned by management. If you’re a dependable LPN who communicates well and focuses on safe, compassionate care, we’d love to hear from you.
