Rate: Local: $1,098 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic nursing procedures.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol.
  • Manage wounds and incisions: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatments and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care instructions.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; manage IV lines.
  • Provide catheter care: insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies according to protocol and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Support preventive care measures (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient needs and rights within the care team.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain professional competency through required continuing education and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
