Rate: Local: $1,132 / 40 hours

Required credentials:

  • Active LPN license for the practicing state
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, following protocols.
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
  • Continuously monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatments and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV insertion and function.
  • Manage urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring).
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff for coordinated care.
  • Assist with patient comfort, positioning, mobility, and pain management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies per protocol and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices and proper PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices and complete required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
