North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join our established Internal Medicine Residency Program as a Core Faculty member in beautiful Florence, Alabama. Become part of a collaborative academic environment where you can shape the next generation of physicians while maintaining an active clinical practice.

Position Highlights

  • Community hospital with an unopposed Internal Medicine residency program
  • Join an established team of 7 Core Faculty physicians
  • Approximately 70% teaching/administrative responsibilities and 30% clinical practice
  • Outpatient primary care, office procedures, resident precepting, didactic teaching, and mentoring
  • Full-spectrum Internal Medicine practice
  • Opportunity to participate in curriculum development and program growth
  • Interest in geriatric medicine is welcomed but not required
  • Supportive and collegial academic environment

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Proficiency in inpatient medicine required
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring residents
  • Interest or experience in curriculum development and academic leadership is a plus

North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC) is a 263-bed health care organization that will open its doors to patients on December 6, 2018. The facility is a replacement hospital for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, AL.

NAMC has grown into the most comprehensive medical facility in northwest Alabama, south central Tennessee, and northeast Mississippi. The facility is the home of northwest Alabama’s only full-service heart/cardiac program. Our cardiac physicians offer the latest diagnostic and medical treatments available, along with the community’s only open-heart surgery suites and recovery facilities. NAMC's 24-hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in northwest Alabama.
