Adelphi is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one private nursing services for a student with significant medical needs at a school in La Plata, Maryland. You will follow the student’s individualized health care plan and work closely with school staff to ensure the student’s safety, comfort, and access to learning.

Requirements

• Active Maryland nursing license
• Minimum two years of nursing experience

What you’ll do

• Provide medical care exclusively to the assigned student and remain available to them during your shift
• Maintain visual access to the student unless the health plan or IEP specifies otherwise
• Deliver care in a way that minimizes classroom disruption and respond to medical emergencies as needed
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to support the student’s IEP
• Attend IEP meetings when requested to share medical information
• Follow school district policies and specific physician orders during school hours and transport
• Ensure medical supplies and equipment are available and functioning
• Perform teacher-delegated activities related to the student’s care
• Complete other duties as assigned
